Mr. Devgan was welcomed with garlands, folk songs, and a display of local heritage. There was an exchange of dialogue between a group of farmers and the farmer leader with that of rural Andhra Farmers communities, mainly the debt- ridden tenant farmers, has shown their pitiful plight and expressed their concern regarding water shortage and less rainfall problem, and mainly government inaction in addressing all their problems. Mitigating their issues is a great challenge for the new-age farmer leaders in India.
The small rural Andhra Farmers were debt-ridden and financially dependent due to high input costs in various agricultural ventures. They hold good faith in the farmers’ leader, Mr. Harisharan Devgan. The farmers were criticizing the government’s ineffectiveness in action. Those who suffered a loss of their crops due to bad weather, for not getting informed before suffering the natural calamities, and poor disaster management policies. But after sharing a few words with the farmer leader, Mr. Devgan, they felt exhilarated and supported.
